Azerbaijan and South Korea mull cooperation on taxation

Azerbaijan and South Korea discussed prospects for cooperation in the field of taxation, Report informs, citing the State Tax Service under Azerbaijan's Ministry of Economy.

On the sidelines of the 29th General Assembly of the Intra-European Organization of Tax Administrations (IOTA) held in Baku, the Head of the State Tax Service, Orkhan Nazarli, held a meeting with the Commissioner of the National Tax Service of the Republic of Korea, Kang Min-soo. During the meeting, the parties emphasized the importance of exchanging experience in the field of applying digital technologies, improving the quality of tax services and improving relations with taxpayers.

Nazarli provided information on the reforms carried out in the tax system of Azerbaijan, the measures implemented within the framework of the Service's Strategy covering 2025–2028, and the work done to promote digitalization and voluntary compliance in tax administration.

Min-soo spoke about the tax management models applied in the country, the integration of digital technologies into the tax system, and international cooperation experiences.

At the end of the meeting, an exchange of views was held on the continuation of mutual cooperation.
