Turkish media representatives have familiarized themselves with the business and investment environment in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, including the reconstruction and development activities and the operations of the Aghdam Industrial Park.
According to Report, citing the Ministry of Economy, the journalists were informed about the projects underway in the industrial park and the opportunities created for investors.
It was noted that the Aghdam Industrial Park was established by a presidential decree on May 28, 2021, to realize the region's industrial potential, reintegrate it into the national economy, and create employment. The park's priority sectors include the production of construction materials, packaging of agricultural products, production of fruit and vegetable preserves, meat and dairy products, animal feed, fertilizers, as well as service areas and other related fields.
Covering 190 hectares, over 70% of the park’s territory has been allocated to entrepreneurs. In terms of the number of residents, it ranks second nationwide after the Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park. A favorable business environment has been created in the park, with infrastructure provided at the state’s expense. Residents are fully exempt from property, land, and income taxes, as well as VAT and customs duties on imported production-related equipment and machinery for 10 years from the date of registration.
Currently, 28 business entities have resident status in the park, and 4 more have non-resident status, with a total investment portfolio exceeding 260 million manats. More than 115 million manats have already been invested in various projects, providing 653 permanent jobs. At present, 9 enterprises are operational, and construction is ongoing for more than five others.
Products manufactured in the park are sold both domestically and internationally.
During their visit, Turkish media representatives toured the production facilities of resident companies Bafco Invest LLC, Mister Decor, and Eel Electric.
The delegation also visited the Alat Free Economic Zone and the Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park.
