Construction work has begun on the Uzbekistan Cultural and Entertainment Complex worth $80 million in Baku, said Uzbek Entrepreneur Jahongir Artikhodjayev, Report informs via Uzbek media.
"A large-scale project for the construction of the Uzbekistan Cultural and Entertainment Complex is being implemented in the Azerbaijani capital. The new park is being built on 4.5 hectares of land in Baku White City. The total value of the project is $80 million. According to forecasts, the annual number of visitors could reach 800,000 people," he noted.
The businessman noted that the implementation of the project began on February 10, 2025, and the construction of the complex will take two years after obtaining the necessary permits.
"Demolition, earthworks, and installation of communications have already been carried out. Eleven km of pipeline, 15 km of electrical cable have been laid, 8 electrical panels, 5 pumps and 4 reservoirs have been installed. The project envisages the creation of architectural objects in the style of Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, workshops, national cuisine restaurants, a beach, an oceanarium, a shopping and entertainment center, a wax figure museum, a shopping avenue and a unique flying theater," Artikhodjayev said.
Architects from Uzbekistan were involved in developing the concept. The internal infrastructure is being designed by the Australian company Sanderson Group, a renowned international designer of theme parks, including Magic City in Tashkent and several large facilities in Uzbekistan. Azerbaijani architectural bureaus are working on adapting the project to the Baku environment.
"The culture, traditions and customs of Uzbekistan will be reflected here, and the sale of national foods and clothing will be organized. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has instructed that the park should be a true mirror of Uzbekistan in Azerbaijan," the entrepreneur emphasized.
On June 2, the presidents of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan laid the foundation for the park, which will be designed in the shape of the map of Uzbekistan.
