The North-South transport corridor is important for both Russia and Azerbaijan, Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov said, Report informs via the Russian press.
"This is a very important project that meets the interests of both countries, and we certainly hope that if there are questions, they will be asked and comprehensive answers will be given," he said.
The North-South international transport corridor project was launched to create a multimodal passenger and cargo route from the seaport of St. Petersburg to one of the largest ports on the west coast of India - Mumbai, with a total length of 7,200 km. The route includes sea routes from the port of Mumbai to the Iranian ports of Chabahar and Bandar Abbas, railway routes through Iran, Azerbaijan and Russia, and sea transportation in the Caspian Sea.
