India's aviation regulator orders removal of three top Air India executives

India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has ordered the country's largest airline, Air India, to remove three senior executives responsible for crew scheduling due to repeated violations of pilot working hour regulations.

Report informs via The Hindu that the DGCA cited systemic non-compliance with pilot duty time limitations, improper crew pairing practices without appropriate licenses or rest periods, and an overall failure to ensure strict adherence to aviation safety rules.

The aviation regulator has demanded that Air India submit a report on the findings of an unscheduled inspection within 7–10 days and warned of possible sanctions.

The DGCA emphasized that this decision aims to strengthen flight safety oversight following the June 12 Air India crash near Ahmedabad.
