Japan, China, Indonesia prepare to evacuate their citizens from Israel, Iran

Japan, China and Indonesia have said they are preparing to evacuate their citizens from Iran and Israel as tensions between the two countries escalate, Report informs referring to The Times of Israel.

Japan says it is sending two military aircraft to Djibouti ahead of a possible airlift of Japanese citizens from Iran. Defense Minister Gen. Nakatani said he ordered two C-2 transport planes to be sent along with 120 troops to the Horn of Africa country, where a Japanese military base is located. About 280 Japanese are in Iran, and another 1,000 are in Israel.

Meanwhile, the Chinese embassy in Israel said it would organize a group evacuation by bus from Israel starting June 20. A notice posted on the embassy's WeChat social network said the Chinese citizens would be taken out through the Taba border crossing in Egypt. The Indonesian government says it is evacuating its citizens from Iran.

Some 386 Indonesians, mostly students, are in Iran, mostly in the city of Qom, the Foreign Ministry said. Some 194 Indonesians are in Israel, most of them in the southern Gaza city of Rafah.
