Hayastan faction to provide 28 signatures to launch impeachment process against Pashinyan

Armenia's opposition parliamentary faction Hayastan reaffirmed its readiness to provide signatures of the missing 28 deputies within a reasonable time frame to initiate the impeachment process against Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, MP Kristine Vardanyan said on X, Report informs, citing the local press.

"We are ready for discussions with our colleagues from the I Have Honor Alliance," Vardanyan wrote.

The two opposition factions include 34 deputies. According to Armenian law, to begin the impeachment process, the initiators must propose their own candidacy for the post of prime minister. The application can be discussed if there are 36 signatures. In order to express no confidence in the head of government, at least 54 out of 107 deputies must vote for impeachment.

Earlier, the opposition I Have Honor Alliance nominated the head of the Masis community, David Hambardzumyan, for the post of prime minister. But two of the four independent deputies have already stated that they are against this candidate.
