The return to liberated territories after the 44-day Patriotic War has created a significant opportunity for the revival of the institution of the family, Bahar Muradova, Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children’s Affairs of Azerbaijan, said at the 2nd meeting of ministers and heads of agencies responsible for family and social policy of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).
According to Report, she noted that 2,615 families—totaling 10,233 individuals—have been resettled in the liberated territories:
"By the end of 2026, the plan is to resettle 34,500 families, or 140,000 citizens."
Muradova also reported that in 102,010 children were born in Azerbaijan in 2024, with a demographic increase of 43,401 people.
She emphasized that work is currently underway on a national family policy framework:
"We now have the opportunity to participate not only in the annual ministerial meetings but also in other events dedicated to this important topic."
