President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with the chairpersons of parliaments of TURKPA member states, where Speaker of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis, Sahiba Gafarova, also participated, Report informs, citing the Milli Majlis.
At the meeting, Tokayev noted that TURKPA has a special impact on the economic, cultural and humanitarian development of the countries and its potential should be used to achieve the common goals of our peoples.
Recalling that Kazakhstan chaired the Organization of Turkic States last year, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev informed on the work done during this period.
The president of Kazakhstan, noting the role of TURKPA in deepening cooperation among Turkic states, emphasized that strengthening partnerships is especially important against the backdrop of modern challenges. According to the head of state, Kazakhstan attaches special importance to interparliamentary relations and people-to-people diplomacy between fraternal countries. TURKPA is an influential international organization and a unique structure that allows deepening cooperation. Joint activities within this organization are of great importance.
"Kazakhstan fully supports the parliamentary diplomacy of the Turkic states. With solidarity, we will successfully overcome these difficult times and give a strong impetus to the development of our economies," Tokayev said.
