The head of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Russia's Ural region, Shahin Shikhlinskiy, has been released, the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora told Report.
Shikhlinskiy was released after interrogation.
Earlier, information was disseminated that Shahin Shikhlinskiy was detained and taken to the Investigative Committee for the Sverdlovsk Region of the Russian Federation to testify as a witness.
The head of the Azerbaijan-Ural organization Shahin Shikhlinskiy has been detained near his shopping center Baku Plaza in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg.
As Report informs with reference to the Telegram channel 66.RU, his son Mutvaly confirmed the information about the detention.
"There were many security forces near the shopping center," he noted.
According to Russian Telegram channels in Yekaterinburg, the head of the Azerbaijani diaspora in the Ural region and his son Mutvaly were detained in the city center opposite the shopping center. Then Shikhlinskiy's son was released.
